ABOVE THE SOFA ART SIZING + linked favorites!
GENERAL RULE OF ART SIZING
My general rule for sizing art above the sofa, headboard, credenza, etc., is to ensure the total art width is 2/3 the size of the piece of furniture, in this case, a sofa. To find this number, use the following equation: Sofa Width in inches x 0.75 = Ideal Art Width.
You can do any number of things to achieve the correct width; a few of my go-to’s are:
One large statement piece
Art, map, tapestry, framed fabric/rug
One statement piece flanked by sconces
the sconces help to achieve the correct width and provide ambient lighting
Two or three frames in a row
vary the size and scale of each piece for eclectic interest

FRAMING
I use Framebridge for 90% of my and my client’s framing. They work with physical or digital products, mount, frame, and ship your artwork to your door with the necessary hanging hardware. If you do a gallery wall through them, they’ll even send you a life-size paper layout, so nail placement is a breeze.
